Something not working, or something in the writing that isn't right? Mail admin@aipple.net and you will get a reply from a person.
Each copy of the app gets seven phrases in any rolling seven days. It is a true rolling window, so a go comes back exactly seven days after you used it, not at the start of a new week. Every phrase is generated fresh and costs us money, which is the whole reason for the limit.
Playing a phrase you have already had does not use a go — it is kept on your device and replays from there.
"Say it" is the one part of the app that needs an internet connection. Everything else — all 135 entries, the maps, the quizzes and the 75 sayings — is built into the app and works without one. If you are offline or our server is having a moment, the rest of the app carries on as normal.
Nowhere. Pictures added to the User Gallery are stored privately inside the app on your own device. They are never uploaded. There is no account and no sharing. Deleting the app deletes them, so move anything you want to keep back into Photos first.
Please tell us. Dates, distances, heights and death tolls are checked against the body that owns them — Historic Environment Scotland, NatureScot, the British Geological Survey, the national records — and where a claim could not be stood up it was cut rather than fudged. That does not make it perfect. If something is out of date, or an opening time has changed, or a figure is wrong, mail us the entry name and what is wrong with it and it gets fixed in the next update.
Links point at whoever actually runs a place, and they reorganise their websites without telling us. Send the entry name and we will repoint it.
Yes. The app runs in portrait on both iPhone and iPad.
