You duck out of the rain into the Strathearn Museum, a Victorian museum in Edinburgh's New Town, and nod off on a bench in front of a film about mummies.
You wake at 18:47. The lights are low, the doors are locked, and the sign by the stair, put up by the Founder in 1866, has three rules: do not touch, do not run, leave at the bell.
Beside the film alcove there is a new display case, lit up and empty. The label inside is handwritten in old-fashioned copperplate, and the ink is still wet: Visitor. Found asleep in the Egyptian Gallery.
